Destroyed and buried under volcanic ash and pumice in the terrible eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79, the old Pompeii has been immortal since then.

From the beginning of the excavation in the middle of the 18th century, so many evidences and treasures were discovered that it is possible to see how they used to live there. The amphitheater, Temple of Apollo, Temple of Jupiter, House of the Faun, House of Menandro, House of the Vettii, Villa of Mysteries are the main place to visit.
